Global Management Challenge (GMC) is the world’s largest strategy and management competition based on a simulation that mirrors a typical manufacturing company.
The competition comprises university students and young professionals organised as teams of 3 to
5 members managing a manufacturing company as its senior management. In their capacity as the management of the company, the participants take decisions relating to the sales and marketing, production, human resources and finances of the company. The decisions are made in a highly competitive, constantly changing environment because the simulation software assesses all the decisions of each participating team in comparison with the decisions of the other competing teams within their group. As such, no decision is right or wrong, however, the team that makes better decisions compared to others within their group is rewarded by achieving better sales and profitability.
The 2013 edition of the competition will be played over 2 elimination rounds during November 2013 to March 2014, eventually crowning the GMC UAE champions. The UAE GMC winning team will be sent to Sochi, Russia, to compete against the national winners of 30+ countries for the coveted top honor – GMC World Champion.
GMC is being introduced for the first time in the UAE by Beaufort Associates, a management consulting and business advisory services company focused on helping clients achieve their vision.
