Bokhara rugs originate from the Bukhara region of present-day Uzbekistan. Earlier known as Tekke Bokhara, Bokhara rugs are crafted in Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan other than Uzbekistan. However, Pakistan is known for making the most luxurious hand-knotted Bokhara rugs. Antique Bokhara rugs are generally Tekke faced and feature symmetrical patterns of diamond-shaped motifs and oval patterns. They generally feature the tones of red, though they are also available in Ivory, Rose, and Grey hues. Some of the common Bokhara rugs are Solar Bokhara rugs, Tekke Bokhara rugs, and Royal Bokhara rugs.
